About ONE BOOK Steamboat

Bud Werner Memorial Library presents a return of the community read to Steamboat Springs, Colorado. We’re calling it  ONE BOOK STEAMBOAT and we’re reading To Kill A Mockingbird.

ONE BOOK STEAMBOAT: A community read of To Kill A Mockingbird

Join your friends and neighbors in reading or re-reading Harper Lee’s Pulitzer Prize winning novel To Kill A Mockingbird. ONE BOOK STEAMBOAT celebrates Lee’s groundbreaking tale of race, class, justice and the pain of growing up with a 50-day celebration of the 50th anniversary of To Kill A Mockingbird.

As To Kill A Mockingbird remains one of the Top 10 most challenged books in America, we’re starting our celebration of the novel, and the freedom to read, during national Banned Books Week. An author talk, a documentary premier, an inter-generational community discussion and a screening of the feature film are among the free events scheduled in Library Hall during ONE BOOK STEAMBOAT.
